Google Chrome

so at last google has started the war that was not much anticipated by the industry specialists. being so close to the mozilla firefox foundations, google still did bring its own browser called "CHROME"

why so???

well the  first and the foremost reason for it is.. google has always been revolutionary in its approach. what they wanted was that the concept of cloud computing be included in the browsers so as to give the user the power to use the cloud computing to great effect.

so in a sense they were barging on mozilla firefox to make these changes, but as they did not have the right to change the scenario in firefox, they created their own browser. what is surprising though is that mozilla is not much perturbed by the launch.

industry specialists would agree that by the launch of chrome there is a direct attack on firefox rather than IE8. this is because mozilla is highly integrated with google search and other services provided by google. and once chrome comes into play, all of the firefox users would turn to chrome.

i have started using chrome and except some changes that require getting used to. i find this browser really attractive and efficient. other things will come into considerations later.

now the market scenario is something like...

75% is with IE
20% is with firefox
rest 5% is with other browsers.

with the war starting now... what is most important is the shift from mozilla to chrome.

according to me... i believe that there are 3 types of users of browsers..

first one are the naive users.. who just want to surf the internet and do nothing else. these are not technology people and dont really care about their security and performance much. that is the reason most of them use IE as they believe it is not their thing to change the browser.

second are the complete techno geeks. these are the persons that know about the technology and are very specific about their needs. the problem is that there are very few of these people percentage wise.

the third are the experimental kind. these are the people like students and technocrats who are there to experiment with the browser and not to make full use of it.

now the scenario is that the first group uses the IE and they constitute to about 80% of the total users. the rest 20% are the ones the other companies fight for.

microsoft has still an edge as windows gives free IE8 with windows.

the only hope that google has.. is to beat microsoft on the cloud computing front. that seems to be the only way google is going to win the war.

it can be said to be the opening of the third front. and i have my doubts of microsoft being able to adapt to this kind of situation.

i hope microsoft knows what hit them.

in my next post i will explain the placement of microsoft and the cloud computing.
